Diagnosis Vs Healthy
What's The Difference?
"Diagnosis": "1 ounce of prevention is worth 1 pound of cure" is when your body breaks down the point to fit a specific criteria for 1 or more "dis-eases" to be labelled and then symptoms managed often with drugs and surgeries but rarely getting to the cause of the problem and negative feedback loops never stopped. This is the most expensive outcome.
Healthy: in its present definition, refers to the remarkable ability of biological systems to maintain stability while adapting to fluctuating external circumstances. Here you experience excellent cognitive and physical abilities. The primary method of achieving this is through prevention using a cellular nutritional approach called "medical nutrition." This is the lowest-cost outcome.

Mother: Lots of surgeries, from wisdom teeth, to hysterectomy, to thyroid removal. "Diagnosed" manic depressive.

Sister: TMJ,

  1. Summary of Analysis/Contributing Factors

Main Concerns of Client

  • Short sleep duration & often poor, broken sleep
  • Sugar cravings but maintain cessation from sugar cravings by avoiding them.
  • Lower back pain from scoliosis
  • Have hiatal hernia likely related to scoliosis
  • Very excessive usage of vaporizer with little to no nicotine -- but contains propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine, food flavoring.
  • New, frequent use of very low dose mirtazipine (remeron) for sleep at 3.5 mg nightly along with marijuana tincture

All Causes and Effects relevant to the client

Low stomach acid (b1: 53)

Note: symptoms of low stomach acid can mimic a “too much acid” condition due to fermenting of food in the stomach.

An underactive stomach does not produce enough hydrochloric acid (HCI) and enzymes for the proper digestion of food.

The symptoms of an underactive stomach can sometimes be confused with those of an overactive stomach (B.2), leading to the use of antacids, which of course aggravate the condition.

Causes:

  • ■ a diet high in meat (particularly red meat) and dairy products, refined and processed foods, and fast foods ■ drinking chlorinated water or ice-cold water or carbonated beverages ■ poor food combining

Effects:

  • ■ poor absorption of all minerals including calcium, magnesium, chromium, iodine, iron, manganese, potassium, selenium and zinc. (D.1 to D.6) and (E.1 to E.3). Calcium (D.1), iron (D.4) and zinc (D.6) in particular, along with protein (A.4) require sufficient HCI to metabolize. Minerals need to be bathed in bile triggered by HCI to be assimilated in the small intestine.

  • bad breath ■ flatulence ■ burning sensation in stomach, heartburn ■ heavy, tired feeling after eating ■ stools poorly formed, pale, greasy, floating

Recommendations:

  • ■ Eating smaller meals more often, avoiding red meat, dairy products, convenience food and alcohol will ease the digestion process.

Sulfur (D7: 63)

Causes:

  • high toxicity levels that increase the body’s needs for antioxidants
  • reduced liver function (see liver/gall bladder, B.3)

Effects:

  • dry skin and hair
  • brittle or fragile nails
  • slow wound healing
  • Joint pain, tenderness and swelling

Food sources:

  • eggs, garlic, onions, meat, poultry, fish, legumes,
  • soybeans, tofu
  • Supplementation: L-cysteine, L-methionine, methyl-sulfonyl- methane (MSM)

Chromium (E2: 60)

  • intolerance to alcohol
  • glucose intolerance, hypoglycemia, diabetes
  • cravings for sugars or starches
  • Because of its function in the regulation of blood sugar, lack of chromium is linked to obesity, because of its function in the regulation of blood sugar. However, caution should be observed in using this mineral for weight loss. People with chromium deficiency are known to have a ‘sweet tooth.’

Recommendations:

  • Avoid white processed flour (and products made with it) which are stripped of chromium. Replace it with whole foods such as nuts, cooked beans, seeds
  • Replace wheat with sorghum, chickpea flour bread.

Food Sources:

  • Best food sources: meat, shellfish, clams, brewer’s yeast, whole grain cereals, potato skins, oysters, apples, bananas, and spinach Note: Fruits, vegetables, and dairy have very low chromium concentrations.

Underactive Adrenals (J1: 48)

  • Underactive adrenals are encountered as frequently as an underactive stomach (B.1). The two are in fact linked. Underactive adrenals spell STRESS, and we know how that affects the functions of the digestive tract.
  • The adrenals are involved in our response to stress, whether physical, emotional or psychological. Stress leads to what we call the ‘fight or flight’ syndrome, which releases adrenocorticol hormone in the blood stream. Since in our modern society we are seldom in a position to either ‘fight or flight’, this constant fluctuation of adrenal hormones results in exhaustion of the glands, and the accompanying syndromes: fatigue, insomnia, digestive tract upsets, irritability, depression, heart disease, PMS, menopausal syndromes, etc.

Causes:

  • lack of supporting nutrients - vitamin C (G.9) pantothenic acid (G.4), potassium (D.3), B12 (G.7), vitamin E (F.3) and choline (H.1)
  • diets high in sugar (C.1), refined grains
  • Alcohol, sugar (C.1), nicotine (C.6) and caffeine

Effects:

  • eyes sensitive to bright lights, headlights, sunlight
  • tightness or “lump" in throat, hurts under stress
  • inability to cope with stressful events

Recommendations:

  • The best approach to under-active adrenals is good management of stress. Stress is a feeling of helplessness in the face of a given situation. Often, fear of taking appropriate action is a major factor.
  • Nowhere is the relationship between mind and body more evident than with the adrenals. Certain emotional states affect the production of adrenal hormones: anxiety, fear and anger stimulate the adrenals to secrete their hormones, especially epinephrine, nor-epinephrine and gluco-corticoids; emotions such as defeatism, feelings of being overpowered, not caring for oneself, not approving of oneself and being angry at oneself.
  • Moderate physical exercise and meditation are top stress relievers, along with yoga and breath work.

Food Sources:

  • Stress management includes a wholesome diet of natural foods, including many vitamin B- rich foods, and avoidance of sugars and sweets.

Supplementation:

  • Supplementation of vitamin C (G.9), B-complex
  • including pantothenic acid (G.4), potassium (D.3),
  • vitamin E (F.3) and choline (H.1) is recommended.

Manganese (D.5 : 72)

  • The mineral manganese is a catalyst for enzyme action, and a synthesis of fatty acids (A.3) and cholesterol. It is necessary for the digestion of protein (A.4), for glucose regulation (see pancreas, J.5) and thyroid activity (see underactive thyroid, J.6).

Causes:

  • ■ Dietary deficiency or genetic inheritance.
  • ■ Large amounts of calcium (D.1) and phosphorus will interfere with manganese absorption. Heavy milk drinkers, meat eaters or consumers of carbonated beverages may therefore need additional manganese in the system.

Effects:

  • Prone to athletic injuries, strained knees and elbows.
  • Decreased glucose tolerance, or ability to remove excess sugar from the cells.
  • Low levels of manganese in the system cause weak ligaments or what is recognized as "clicking"

Recommendations:

  • Optimal absorption of manganese occurs when it is taken in the absence of other minerals or food. Food Sources:
  • It is readily available from dietary sources: nuts and whole grains, green leafy vegetables, peas, beets, egg yolk, whole grains, bananas, bran, celery, legumes and liver

Diet Summary:

Water

  • Drinking sufficient water

Fresh fruit and vegetables/active enzymes

  • bananas, peas - needs to increase substantially

Nutrient dense foods

  • Virtually all foods consumed are nutrient-dense.

Fibre

  • Consuming sufficient fiber

EFAs

  • Not consuming sufficient EFAs

Protein

  • Consuming wide variety of complete protein sources

Probiotics

  • Not consuming enough probiotic sources

Whole grains

  • Since he's O blood type, it's best to avoid grains entirely. Noticing grains & whole grain bread causes flatulence.

Legumes

  • Avoid kidney beans (because of O blood type)
  • Be digilent regarding legume consumption

Processed food

  • Consuming small amounts of processed foods.

Refined grains

  • O blood type - grains could be greatly reduced/eliminated

Sugar

  • Little to no sugar being consumed.
  • Keep sugar intake grams to zero or very little.

Dairy

  • Little to no dairy products being consumed.

Beverages

  • Sometimes consuming diet drinks with aspartame -- best to eliminate.

Root Causes

  • lack of education
  • poor diet
    • lifestyle/behavioral
    • emotional eating after 8 pm
    • poor digestion absorption

Stress- possible causes:

  • past traumatic events
  • parental divorce causing financial distress for him
  • No paid work at the moment
  • poor stress management strategy
  • heavy metals living near factory

DIet Recommendations:

  • I recognize that clients do not have infinite amounts of time or money to purchase expensive supplements, nor large amounts of time working in the kitchen. That's why we recommend easier solutions such as frozen vegetables and fruit, along with preparing meals and drinks ahead of time; perhaps on a weekly basis.
  • Client should look into adopting Paleolithic or "Paleo" diet. More can be found here: https://health.ucdavis.edu/blog/good-food/paleo-diet-what-it-is-and-why-its-not-for-everyone/2022/04
  • Cut out chromium supplementation but replace with more unrefined carbohydrates non-wheat sources: more nuts & seeds and carbohydrates based on those
  • Include very high EPA fish oil into diet
  • More sulfur in the diet that includes onions, garlic and many others on top of sulphur rich supplements and/or precursor supplements.
  • Subscribe to "anti-inflammation diet" which is emphasizes foods that are high in antioxidants, monounsaturated fats, and omega-3 fatty acids, all of which help reduce inflammation. Keeping your diet low in sugar further reduces the inflammatory fires by keeping blood-sugar levels in check.
  • Foods to Avoid: Loading up on junk foods, high-fat meats, sugar, and highly processed foods may increase the potential for inflammation in your body. Reduce your consumption of trans-fats and saturated fats by cutting back on highly processed foods, red meats, and high-fat processed meats such as bacon and sausage. Cut back on refined white flours in bread and pasta. Eliminate added sugars by decreasing your consumption of sugary sodas, pastries, candy, rich desserts, and pre-sweetened cereals.
  • Try to consume 1 cup walnuts before bed as this helps with sleep aling with calcium & magnesium together.
  • Purchase HMF 500 for probiotic supplementation increase to ameliorate gut health.
  • Based on blood type subset O blood type, avoid wheat, corn, legumes, kidney beans, caffeine and alcohol.

Lifestyle recommendations:

  • Obtain more exercise, along with trying to obtain functional bicycle for frequent exercise. TO be specific, this includes: moving arms up and down with each step as if you were running. Look into the far distnace as walking, since we already obtain enough near-sighted viewing by staring at computer screens and other close objects on daily basis.
  • Spend less time in front of computer screens
  • Earthing of feet on ground/soil. This means removing shoes and place feet on ground; preferably on the soil for at least 10 to 30 minutes.
  • Perform yoga or some other meditation exercises to try to relax. A good example is https://yogawithadriene.com/.
  • You may also try "Laughter Yoga" from laughteryoga.org
  • Use incense at night or infuser
  • Perform 30 minutes to 1 hour bicycling daily
  • Practice daily affirmations & practice gratitude. Such affirmations could be reminders on printer paper on your wall to remember to take supplements, cut out refined foods. On these reminders print out life affirming words such as "I am worth it" and many others.
